Happy Birthday, Abby!

The sonogram has confirmed that the baby is going to be a girl! It seemed like yesterday, but actually yesterday was my granddaughter’s 1st birthday. A year ago this Grandma started to pull out the fabrics choices and designed a baby quilt.  Actually, Grandma made two for Abby. With extra fabric, burp cloths in the …

Baby Quilts – Not For Cuddles

Did you ever see a baby start to learn to try to roll over? Of course this proud Grandmother watched her new grandson perform this feat for the first time, yesterday, over the Internet using the Skype. How magnificent to have the technologies to be able to capture those first moments that would otherwise have gone unseen due to the miles that come between grandmother and grandson. Birthday For This Grandmother

WOW! Another birthday for this Grandmother has snuck up so quickly.
If you are old enough to be a Grandmother, birthdays tend to show up all too quickly. But as I was reminded, the alternatives to birthdays are worse!

Snuggling with a Grandson

To this Grandmother my most precious moments are those when my newborn grandson is in my arms. On these cold winter days, I have him snuggled close, wrapped in the handmade baby quilt that I had made many months ago.

A New Grandmother

And baby makes three… Mommy, Daddy, and the new baby just arrived but wait… we need to count me, the new Grandmother.
This quilter has been designing handmade baby quilts, and has been collecting the wonderful stories of those ecstatic Grandmothers, who have purchased my handmade baby quilts have told or wrote to me about their new grandchild, now I have my own grandson to love, cherish, and design a handmade quilt for.
